Do you support US bands/my country's band?
Yes! We have two models of phones - one for the US and Canada and one for the rest of the world. The US phone can work outside of the US but expect very patchy support. Note the shipping times differ for each so please check when ordering!
Note we only support T-Mobile in the US!
(N.B. For Australia we only support Telstra!)
Do you support WhatsApp, Messenger and Signal?
Yes we do! These also work with push notifications via MicroG or Google Play Services to ensure you get instant updates!
Do you support X banking app?
With the google variant many banking apps are supported. However there are a lot of banking apps that will not work on this device due to the Google Play Integrity check. As a good start - please look for your application in https://privsec.dev/posts/android/banking-applications-compatibility-with-grapheneos/
Note the above is not perfect however. We are working on a list of supported and unsupported banking apps.
Do you support Norwegian BankID and Vipps?
BankID no longer works after recent changes in authentication in the app (ID scanning). We are working on resolving it. Vipps works fine right now, but previous versions have caused problems in degoogled phones, so we don't want to make any guarantees.
Swedish BankID does work!
Do you support Maps and GPS?
Absolutely - the phone comes with Organic maps which supports offline maps and you can also download Google Maps
Do you support authenticator/2FA apps?
Yes we do - both FreeOTP+ (a generic 2FA application) and Microsoft Authenticator are supported!
Do you support X app?
In general, we support almost all apps that work on Android, only really having difficulty with banking apps or digital id apps (due to Google Play Integrity Check). We ship with either Aurora store or Google Play Store to have full access to the apps on the Google Play Store
Will this device get regular updates?
Yes - we have made many updates over the last few months including better battery life, improvements to our app blocker and the addition of MicroG.
We will also regularly publish security updates for as long as AOSP 14 is supported by Google.
What is your returns/warranty policy?
We have a 2 year warranty and will refund the device no questions asked within 14 days of purchase.
What languages does the T9 keypad support?
We support 40+ languages - check here to see exactly what we support!
Does the device support RCS?
RCS currently works on the version of our OS with google apps, but it's not something we can guarantee to work in the future.
Does Android Auto work?
Android Auto does work - please use the Google Play variant for it to work!
Does Spotify and Apple Music work?
Yes both of these work!
Do USB-C to USB-C charging cables work?
For the Dumber Mini yes!
Unfortunately, these do not work on the R77 Pro as the hardware cannot negotiate the right voltage. You must use a USB-A to USB-C charger
Do you support professional flashing/allow me to send you a phone to flash?
Unfortunately not, as this is time consuming and often the phones are irreversibly bricked when sent to us.
Do you support WiFi calling?
Unfortunately not at the moment! This is something we are actively working on!
How can the phone help me overcome smartphone addiction?
The 2.8 inch screen makes it quite hard to scroll through content for extended periods of time. It also comes with an App Blocker which allows you to temporarily or even permanently disable certain applications.
The phone keeps turning on in my pocket!
Go to Settings -> Security -> Screen lock -> Disable Wake screen with PIN keys
Is the device secure?
We make regular updates and ensure that we have the latest Android 14 updates. The userdata is encrypted at rest. However, if you are looking for a very secure device and have a very high threat model- it would be better to get an iPhone or Pixel with GrapheneOS as these have a dedicated hardware chip for the encryption keys. It's also worth noting that a mobile phone with a SIM card inherently gives away your location - we believe the best solution here is to minimise usage!
Can I make calls over 4G/VoLTE?
Yes – this is fully supported! As of a recent update, this works out of the box.
What bands do you support?
Dumber Mini rest of the world: 4G B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B28A/B; TDD-LTE B38/B39/B41 for the rest of the world phone.
Dumber Mini US: 4G: FDD:2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/66/71; TDD:38/39/40/41 for the US version
R77 Pro: B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28B; TDD-LTE B38/B39/B40/B41
Can the phone be used as a Hotspot
Yes it can! I use this feature everyday and it works very well.
Do you support the Tesla app?
Yes we do!
Do you support NFC/Contactless payments?
The Dumber Mini (not the R77 Pro) supports this and has a fully functioning NFC chip. With CurvePay, you can use contactless payments in the UK & EU. Not that we do not support Google Pay. Outside the UK & EU, some banking apps support contactless payments.
Unfortunately, the R77 Pro does not have an NFC chip so it cannot do contactless payments.
