Dumber Mini Screen Repair and Keypad Repair

The Dumber Mini's entire front, including the keypad and screen, can be replaced. This is helpful if:

- Your screen is experiencing issues (e.g. it's cracked or registers ghost touches).
- There are issues with the keypad (e.g. a key does not register or is hard to press).

If your phone arrives with one of these issues, please contact support. We will also make the replacement front available for purchase soon so that you can get spares or repair a phone out of warranty.

Screen installation

1. Remove the SIM card tray.
2. Pop off the back cover with a guitar pick or sturdy fingernail, along the line that goes above the SIM card tray when the phone is lying flat.
3. Lay the phone screen-down on a soft surface.
4. Unscrew the seven screws visible from the top (one has a sticker on it).
5. Carefully remove the plastic frame that the screws were holding around the sides and back of the phone.
6. Disconnect the LCD connector, which is directly above the top-right corner of the battery.
7. Remove the motherboard by lifting the right side of the battery, like opening a book.
8. The motherboard is still connected to the front by the inner volume keys. These need to be unglued together with the whole white layer. This should be easy using a fingernail.
9. Repeat the above steps in reverse using the new front. The speaker and outer volume keys are loose, so make sure they're in the right place when assembling the phone.
